AC
Alternating Current

Ampere Hour
The quantity of electricity measured in ampere-hours (Ah) that can be delivered by a cell/battery under specified conditions.

Amplifier
A device, especially one using transistors or electron tubes, that produces amplification of an electrical signal.

Charger
A device that charges, such as an instrument that charges or replenishes storage batteries.

Frequency
The number of repetitions per unit time of a complete waveform, as of an electric current.

Harmonics
Periodic motion whose frequency is a whole-number multiple of some fundamental frequency.

Humidity
The amount of water vapor in the air, expressed as a percentage of the maximum amount that the air could hold at the given temperature; the ratio of the actual water vapor pressure to the saturation vapor pressure.

Immersion
The condition of being placed underwater for a length of time.

LED
Light-Emitting Diode. A semiconductor diode that emits light when conducting current, and is used in electronic equipment, especially for displaying readings on digital watches, calculators, etc.

Modulation
The variation of a property of an electromagnetic wave or signal, such as its amplitude, frequency, or phase.

NATO
North Atlantic Treaty Organization

NSN
Government National Stock Number. Assigned to cells and batteries purchased by the Department of Defense and other military/government agencies. Numbers for batteries are in the following format: XXXX-XX-XXX-XXXX

Repeater
A device capable of receiving one-way or two-communications signals and delivering corresponding signals that are either amplified, reshaped, or both.

Transceiver
A transmitter and receiver housed together in a single unit, and having some circuits in common. Often for portable or mobile use.

Voltage
The unit of measurement of electric potential. Voltage is the difference in electrical energy between two points.
